The concert will feature a wide range of repertoire for voice and both classical and electric guitar - including classical works by: W.A. Mozart, Franz Schubert, Manuel de Falla, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Luciano Berio and Samuel Barber; Brazilian music by: Jayme Ovalle, Luis Bonfa and Paurillo Barroso; and re-workings of popular songs by: Tim Buckley, Jimmy Webb, Henry Mancini and Lennon/McCartney. Alexandra Picard and Michael Nicolella first performed together in 2012 when Alexandra premiered Michael’s work for soprano, guitar and orchestra entitled The Flame of the Blue Star of Twilight with the Northwest Symphony Orchestra. Following a live performance on KING-FM at the start of 2016, Michael and Alexandra began performing duo concerts featuring an eclectic array of music. Their concerts frequently range from 19th century lieder and 20th century classical works to Brazilian and American jazz and popular music.
